Subject: Test, for adhesion
Concrete Adhesive System
Law Crandall Job No. 70300-7-0 197

At your request Law Crandall (LAW) has performed an adhesion test on a sample of concrete with a surface coating reported to be a Concrete Adhesive. The sample of concrete is approximately 5” thick and 5.6” in diameter. The adhesion test was performed in general accordance with the American Concrete Institute Manual of Concrete Practice 503R-30 Appendix A section A. 1- Field Test for Surface Soundness and Adhesion. To perform the test the surface was core drilled with a diamond core bit to approximately I” below the surface. A steel disk was epoxied (using Sikadur 33 epoxy) to the surface of the portion inside the cored circle. A load was applied to the steel disk. The concrete failed at approximately 1” below the surface. The concrete adhesive remained adhered to the concrete. A sketch of the test is shown in figure 1.

If more information is needed or if you have any questions please call us.
